DESCRIPTION:
The Red River Playboys is a collection of seasoned musicians with an average of 30 years playing experience in various genres. The Playboys is the brainchild of Lead Guitarist Michael 'T-Mike' Long and accordionist Pat 'Frenchy' Mason, both from Shreveport, LA., who have been part of the Louisiana music scene since the early 70's and are experienced in the diverse musical heritage of Louisiana, including Cajun/Zydeco, Swamp Pop, R&B and Blues all seasoned in the rich Zydeco/Cajun flavor only the Playboys can produce in their unique progressive style. Rounding out the the mix are veteran Bassist Larry 'Gordeaux' Gordy, Drummer Ron 'Whitaquer' Whitaker, and Choya 'Snappy' Crenshaw (Pat's cousin) on fiddle originally from Elysian Fields, TX. Finally, rounding out the mix is veteran keyboardist Bill Unverzagt, well known and respected in the Shreveport music scene for years.
